It was March 2002 when I first found Reiki, I was walking past a notice board at a local fitness centre when a leaflet caught my eye. It just seemed to stand out from the rest and reach out to me.
It was an invitation to come to a "Free Reiki Talk ". I thought to myself, what have I got to lose. As I read the leaflet I felt a surge of excitement and keen interest to find out more. For whatever reason, unclear even to myself and though I wanted to find out more, I decided to leave it. The timing simply didn't feel right. Ever since I could remember I have always been interested in holistic treatments, or any natural therapies, so Reiki appealed to me. I promised myself that next time they announced a talk I would attend. That time eventually arrived a year later in March 2003. One evening on my way to my Pilates class, I noticed a Reiki leaflet being placed on the same notice board. I stopped and chatted with the man placing it. It was at that moment, listening to Jim, that I knew the time was right for me to find out more . I attended his talk and two weeks later I was attuned to Traditional Reiki level I, then 3 months later to Level II. Within the Reiki Network association you have to wait a year before you can continue to become Master/Teacher which then takes up to 2/3 years to complete. In October 2003 I met Jan Davies who is a Tera Mai Master/Teacher. At that time I wasn't sure what the differences were between the two styles but by the end of the day I wanted to find out more. On a spiritual level quite a few events began to unfold and after seeing a Spiritual Medium, Shaman, Psychic Artist and fortune teller at various Mind Body & Spirit events one thing kept popping up. All of them told me that I wasn't satisfied with just Reiki but they could see me working with different energies. Because Tera Mai works with the 4 healing rays and not just the earth element as Reiki does, it was then I decided to be attuned to Tera Mai level I. This was in January 2004. Level II in April and Masters in June 2004. From the time I was attuned to Tera Mai Reiki / Seichem level I my interests in anything spiritual or holistic began to grow. I am now qualified in Indian Head Massage, Crystal therapy; Tera Mai Reiki / Seichem and Quantum Touch. I have been on the following workshops at Spirit Chester:- Angels; Past Lives; Psychic Development; Crystals; Moldavite; Spirit Guides; Shamanism; Opening your 1/3 eye and Meditation courses. As you see there is a wide range of related interests to explore. I am one of a team of therapists that work part-time at Spirit Chester, all treatments and workshops are held at Spirit but arrangements can be made within the Merseyside area for them to be available in the clients home.
